Join FloYo, Mantra Fit and Meadow Hill Wellness for an immersive wellness experience. This is more than a retreat. This is a hands-on coaching program that guides you to vibrant health through nutrition, Chinese medicine, yoga and meditation.

Your journey starts weeks before the trip begins. You will be coached by our three wellness experts before we embark on our 4 night retreat. Two weeks prior to the retreat, you will learn how to make changes in your life to revitalize your energy, weight loss, hormones and feel good in your own skin. Then, we will travel to our luxury homes in Page, Arizona, where you’ll find a sacred place to decompress, take a deep breath and truly focus on yourself.

Meet Carleen:

Carleen Birnes is the owner of Mantra Fit, a wellness studio in Severn Park, MD, which got its humble start in 2012 as an outdoor bootcamp. Word got out quickly and her bootcamp tribe grew. Stand up paddle came next as Carleen helped people take their fitness to the water. Her movement community expanded even more, which led Carleen to open her Mantra Fit studio in 2014. As Carleen worked with clients to help them achieve their health and weight goals, she realized that exercise alone isn’t enough. She dove into nutrition to find answers, training under functional medicine pioneer Chris Kresser. Now, as a certified functional health coach, Carleen helps clients tap into their body’s innate wisdom to activate healing through diet, movement, habit change and mindset.

 

 

Meet Sara: 

Dr. Sara Poldmae, Licensed Acupuncturist, has been practicing holistic health care since 1998.  Sara completed her Doctorate at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, California, where she earned her Masters degree.  Her training has included over 4,000 hours in Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine and Western Medicine Sciences.

Through her 20 years of practice in holistic health, Sara has bridged the gap between Western and alternative medicines.  Sara works closely with her patients’ team of physicians and health care practitioners.  Sara opened Meadow Hill Wellness in 2005, with the goal of integrating traditional and holistic care in order to effectively maintain her patients’ lifelong health.

 

 

Jessie, FloYo Founder

Meet Jessie:

Jessie Benson is the founder and creator of FloYo Fitness, a standup paddle board fitness brand that specializes in leading international retreats, workshops and trainings. As a global yogi and seasoned fitness instructor, she lends a wealth of knowledge and experience to create unique and invigorating vinyasa yoga classes as well as inspired fitness classes and mindful meditations. Jessie spends half the year in her hometown of Baltimore, MD and the other half traveling the world, leading FloYo Travels adventures. To date, she has curated and led 15 global wellness retreats.

How to get there: Fly into Page, AZ (Contour Airline offers flights as low as $29 from Phoenix, AZ or Vegas) the airport is only 1 mile from our house! Alternatively, you can fly into either Las Vegas or Phoenix and rent a car and drive (approx. 5 hrs drive) and make some stops in the Grand Canyon on the way!

More About Your Retreat: 

The experience will begin before you even leave your home. In three online group coaching sessions prior to the retreat you will work with each individual coach to begin your deep healing journey. Jessie will teach you a yoga sequence that detoxifies your body by stimulating your lymphatic system with stretches and diaphragmatic breathing that lowers cortisol hormones and reduces stress and inflammation in the body and brain. Sara will discuss Chinese medicinal herbs and supplements that will aid in detoxifying your liver and promoting deeper restorative sleep. Carleen will guide your nutrition to eliminate inflammatory foods and adopt a diet of nourishing meals that lowers insulin and blood sugar to shed fat, boost energy and feel good in your skin.

When we gather in the gorgeous Arizona desert, you will be immersed in hands on wellness with workshops in yoga, herbal medicine, meditation, cooking demos and spirit quests in nature, while forging new friendships and bonding in a supportive and healing community.

During your stay, Dr. Sara will give simple Chinese herbal solutions to support detoxification, building energy and restoring balance. Dr. Sara will take each participant’s pulse and examine their tongue. Then, treatment needs will be determined to either balance hormones, increase metabolism or reduce stress and inflammation. You will walk away with knowledge to build your own unique herbal medicine cabinet.

Through our daily activities you will quickly realize that this is more than a trip away. It’s a whole body, mind, and sprint cleanse that will revive you on a deep cellular level.
